Promoting the railcard to increase sales by a third
In 2023, we helped make the Devon & Cornwall Railcard the first regional railcard in the UK to be available as a digital product.
Local residents can now either store the railcard on their phone, order a physical railcard online and have it posted to them, or head to their local station ticket office to buy the railcard in the traditional way.
We promoted these new options in partnership with Great Western Railway – through a launch event, social media, door-to-door leaflets, station posters, radio ads and more.
Sales figures
Compared with the same period the previous year, sales of the railcard increased by more than a third from the launch of the digital railcard in June 2023 to the end of that year.
