Beer mat promotion with CAMRA
Promoting The Riviera Line in more than 70 pubs along the line
We joined forces with the Campaign for Real Ale to encourage pub goers in Exeter and South Devon to travel by train, using beer mats bearing the message ‘Get here on the Riviera Line’.
5,000 beer mats were distributed free of charge by Exeter and South Devon CAMRA members to 76 pubs in Exeter, Dawlish, Starcross, Teignmouth, Torquay, Newton Abbot and Paignton.
The beer mats promoted a real ale page on the Partnership’s TheRivieraLine.com website, giving details of real ale pubs located close to each station along the line, using information from CAMRA’s regularly updated WhatPub website.
Promoting the pubs to a wider audience in this way made the project a ‘win-win’ for all involved.
The beer mat promotion was part of our wider Citizens’ Rail project on the Riviera Line.
