A new information centre for travellers on the railway will open at Liskeard station on Monday 1st August 2016.

The Looe Valley Line Information Centre will operate from rooms on platform 3 at Liskeard, the Looe Valley Line platform, and will feature a range of information about the local area, exhibition on the history of the line, railway books and souvenirs.

The Information Centre is a project being led by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership and will be run by a team of local volunteers. Rebecca Catterall, Development Officer for the Partnership said:

“Lots of people visit Liskeard and Looe by train during the summer months. We want to provide a service which means that people get the most out of their visits as well as learning something about the history of the line as well.”

The centre will be open from 09 30 until 13 30 initially Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

If you are interested in being a part of the team of volunteers to enable the centre to open more often, contact Rebecca on 01752 584777 for details.
