Half-price promotion on the Tarka Line
Boosting rail trips to Barnstaple by more than a third during the winter months
A half-price offer agreed with Great Western Railway (GWR) and promoted by the Partnership led to a 37% increase in people visiting Barnstaple during the off-season.
Between October 2014 and March 2015, more than 16,000 people visited Barnstaple on an Off-Peak Day Return ticket from Exeter and other Tarka Line stations, nearly 4,500 more than during the same period the previous year.
We promoted the offer on social media and through a series of advertisements in the Exeter Express & Echo, the Crediton Gazette and the Crediton Courier.
