DCRP scoops 1st and 2nd place at Community Rail Awards
We were pleased to be awarded 1st place in the Tourism & Leisure category and 2nd place in the Best Community Engagement category at the 2026 Community Rail Awards, held at Derby Arena.
Tourism & Leisure (1st place)
Our marketing of the Looe Valley Line’s improved timetable helped deliver record journey figures for this scenic branch line in South East Cornwall. Across social media, local press, leaflets and web, our campaign reached an estimated 1.2 million people.
48 social media posts attracted a total of more than 17,000 likes. Comments included: “Sounds amazing, I must try this journey” and “Wow – I want to come from London”. Read full case study
Best Community Engagement (2nd place)
The Tamar Valley Blossom Festival 2025 was devised by the National Trust Cotehele and the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership as a way to engage communities around the Tamar Valley Line with the train and natural environment through a series of blossom focused events.
A varied programme of engagement, spanning three months, involved 757 people from a diverse cross section of the communities along the Line, including refugees and asylum seekers, local Primary Schools and care home residents and resulted in a 14% increase in journeys on the line.
