Series of videos launched to promote onward travel from railway stations
DCRP came together with GWR, local authorities and bus operators to produce and promote a series of 10 ‘travelogue’ short films to inspire visits to leisure destinations across Devon and Cornwall using joined-up sustainable transport.
The videos showcase the huge strides made by partners to integrate train and bus routes and timetables in the region – opening up exciting new tourism possibilities.
The films set out to boost not just journey figures but also the local economy, featuring more than 50 attractions ranging from museums to markets, heritage railways to National Trust destinations.
The majority of the videos were produced by DCRP’s talented Social Media Officer, Betsy Saunders.
To launch the first quartet of videos, DCRP organised a ‘film premiere’ complete with red carpet and popcorn, earning coverage in the local press.
The videos reached 500,000 people across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X and YouTube. More than 200 positive comments included: “Let’s do it”, “I think I’ve found our next outing” and “I need to come again from Canada so I can do this”.
Local businesses were thrilled. Feedback included: “It does the town proud!”, “What a lovely advert for a day out” and “It’s going to attract a lot more visitors”.
