Improved passenger information at four Cornish rail stations
Next train departure screens have been installed at four Cornish rail stations to improve passenger information thanks to a partnership between Great Western Railway and the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership.
The £38,000 project has seen screens installed at Looe, Lostwithiel, Newquay and St Ives stations. 50% of the funding has been organised by the Partnership through a successful bid to the Community Rail Development Fund, a joint initiative of the Department for Transport and the Community Rail Network.
Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership Manager Richard Burningham said “This is an important step forward for passengers at these four Cornish stations and we are delighted to have been able to join with Great Western Railway to make it happen. Thanks to GWR and their staff for delivering the project.
These screens will be a real boon for regulars and visitors at the four stations, which include those serving three key Cornish seaside resorts.”
